Walk through grief without losing hope

In a lifetime, everyone has or will face grief. These testing times are life-altering, and many emotions surface.

In my book, Tragedy: Confronting the Unthinkable, I address all of the feelings of anger, pain, and heartache following a tremendous loss of my five-year-old son, Austin. This memoir brings the readers through devastating and senseless tragedy while empowering them to embrace their faith with an element of forgiveness.

Tragedy: Confronting the Unthinkable

On what should have been a beautiful August evening in 2007, Renee Haley’s family was faced with one of the most devastating tragedies that anyone could imagine. The negligent actions by police officers who were attempting to shoot a non-venomous snake out of a neighbor’s birdhouse had resulted in the death of their five-year-old son, Austin.

Although Renee’s family has struggled with overwhelming grief, they have ultimately placed their faith in God. Her book will encourage anyone facing an unimaginable tragedy. It will bring strength to those who are at the lowest point in life.

Tragedy: Confronting the Unthinkable will fulfill the need of anyone coping with grief and loss, it will give support to families during difficult moments and decisions, and it will also provide comfort after a tragedy.

About Austin

On what should have been a beautiful August evening in 2007, Renee Haley’s family was faced with one of the most devastating tragedies that anyone could imagine. The negligent actions by police officers who were attempting to shoot a non-venomous snake out of a neighbor’s birdhouse had resulted in the death of their five-year-old son, Austin. He was fishing nearby at a family pond with his grandfather, great grandfather, and little brother when tragedy struck.

Although Renee’s family has struggled with overwhelming grief, they have ultimately placed their faith in God. Her book will encourage anyone facing an unimaginable tragedy. It will bring strength to those who are at the lowest point in life.
